Choice.

The TSC3 has been the workhorse of Trimble data collectors for a generation.  Once It was true that one data collector could suit all purposes.  But we have grown.  Our needs have grown.  Our customers' needs have grown.  Now, one size does not necessarily fit all.  We also want a choice. 

Empower.

Trimble has adapted and made data collection more open.  Before, we only had the TSC3.  Now we have the TDC600, TSC5, TSC7, T7 Tablet, and T100 Tablet.  We get to choose between having the lightest possible option or having the most computing and graphics power.  We can now run a mixture of data collectors based on the requirements of individual survey crews.  We can now pick from cell phone style, traditional Trimble Survey Controller style, and tablet style equipment.  With this choice, we also get interoperability.  We can use the same Trimble Empower modules on the TSC5, TSC7, T7 and T100.  We can create a custom field computing solution with complete versatility.

OS.

The TSC3 restricted users to a Windows Mobile Operating System.  When first released, this operating system was state of the art.  We grew.  Windows Mobile did not.  For years we have patched and cobbled together workflows while dreaming of modernization.  Now we have a choice of two different modern operating systems, Android by Google and Windows 10 Professional by Microsoft.

Access.

While these advanced data collection devices may have different hearts, they all have the same brain.  Trimble Access.  All these devices are using the latest release of Trimble Access.  With a Trimble ID, a user can log in to any of these devices and have their data available to them from Trimble Connect.  We don't have to worry about changing data collectors or leaving the office without the right files.

Adventure.

Trimble has progressed from the workhorse to the worker bee.  Strong, reliable, like-minded individuals working towards a common goal.  While the TSC3 may be saying “So long and thanks for all the fish” the new generation of data collectors are inviting you to challenge them.  Where will you take them?
